No, I like to sit at the front, above the drivers cab, I can pretend I'm driving the bus  ;D O0

I used to like to sit up the front on the old buses just behind the driver , it was always warmer up there

Judith

I'm sorry but I am unable to give you a definitive answer from memory, but it would have been about the time when they remodelled the top end of Cannon Street and Needless Alley, when was that the late 70's early 80's? As I have said often after the early 70's I've hardly ever been into the city.

Turning left on Pershore Road we make our way up Breedon Hill, passing on our way The Breedon Cross public house until we reach Cotteridge Primary School which is more or less on the flat again.

I do miss the Breedon Cross (or Breedon Bar as it was known when I used to go there).  Fantastic place for live music back in the day  :)

Coleridge Passage runs from Corporation Street to Steelhouse Lane along the side of Victoria Law Courts.
I've used that many a time.
Another alley that has now disappeared under the new Birmingham, tough this one has been replaced in name a little further up the road. Cannon Passage ran from Cannon Street to Needless Alley opposite the end of Fore Street.
When did that cease to be used?

Judithm, you mention the Mk 1 Escort. I went to buy some hay today from a local dealer. In the barn and in good rallying condition was a Mk1 Escort Mexico, still taken out on historic Rally's. There was also some Subaru Rally thing next to it. But I only had eyes for the Mexico......

Yeah, who wants to look at a Subaru Rally thing....  ;D

Countrylad,
When I first moved to this very quiet Pembrokeshire, I thought the youngsters still have down here the same as in the bigger towns and cities but just not so many of them. And if you look at big estates like Chemseley wood around our cities there is very little on the estates for youngsters. My missuses daughter lives on a new estate in Swansea we were staying with them, on Saturday I said where do I get the news paper we had to drive 5 miles away from the house to get a news paper.     :o     Cities aren't so good.......and then there is traffic polution all around you.     :(

More people means more houses and more cars and lorries coming to towns and cities. I have noticed it down here where I live in 1984 it was still a quite country town on the coast. But since everyone as become to living the millionaire life style our once no traffic lights in the town. The town is now having it's fourth set of traffic lights installed.      :(
