Hi Beryl M,

To place your ''pic/photo/wharever do the following;
1. clic on Beryl M on Left hand side, above 'Newbie'
2. On the resulting page, go to 'Modify Profile' again on L.H. side.
3. clic on ''Forum Profile Information
4. On the resulting page you will see your options, and can choose ''I will upload my own pic'', that's that's I did.

It works fine, but if you have any trouble, just contact me.

I live in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - we are in the same basic time zone but the temperature's a bit different, 88F, 31C right now at midday.

Hi Beryl,

I read your story and enjoyed it as you write so well, even about the less happy aspects of your second stint as an evacuee.   On the whole you seem to have had a very happy and positive childhood, that's good to read.

It's 31C again here, what's it like in Toronto?  - you'll be getting your first frosts later this month won't you?  I've a native born Canadian friend who lived down here for 11 years before returning to Toronto to look after his parents, just over 6 years ago.

Beryl,

Beautiful as it looks and sounds, I've become allergic to cccc,ooold!  There was a time when I'd've enjoyed the occasional nip in the air, but no more, must be a ''post 60'' effect!.

Beryl M,

No, much closer, in Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean.  I've been here over 11 years, and my flat where I've lived since June '99, is the place I've in longest all my life.

The beaches here are very, very good, although I never ''go to the beach'', as in Papua New Guinea, I lived 75 yards from the sea for 13 months.  From there I moved to Tonga and spent 2 years with the front door 25 yards from high water on a lovely crescent lagoon - the sun travelled from one side to the other as it rose and set and I could watch it all from the shelter of the palms that grew either side of the door.

Now, I live just over a mile from the sea but there is no real beach either way for a few miles.
