well my mom has always said cubut, (instead of cupboard)

have a piece, (instead of have a sandwich)

I think they're Brummie words...
plus stera milk, instead of pas. (hate both now)
Let those that love us, love us. And those that don't, may God turn their hearts. And, if He cannot turn their hearts, May He turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping!- Irish blessing

jacky do not worry we all say daft things   like some poor old lady falls flat on her face blood and snot all over the place and what do we say   are you alright love

and things like she had a LITTLE boy all baby are little

and its always a little old man or little old lady

one of the first things we say when we meet some one we know  is  hi ya nice day or isn!t wet or bloody cold

and then its how are you     the reply is  not to bad or not to good
then when youve done the heath thing your off gone

we are an odd lot but ha we are english we go out in the midday sun

and its our way that sets us apart from the rest of the world
each day is a blessing and I bless each day when it comes

Belgians are no better, when I go and see my local GP he always greets me with "How are you"! I say, "bloody lousy! Why do you think I've come to see you".  :-\  :uglystupid2:

'ay, "'orses eat it" (to stay on topic).

Roy,

I stand corrected, dancers are more appropriate to Brum than wooden hill. I'll have to send you a bag of suk as a prize.

Fred,

I think you are getting us Brummies mixed up with a lower species. Apples & pears and trombone are definitely cockney rhyming slang.

John,

I think a dustbin is a dustbin wherever you come from, except Birmingham where it is a miskin, and don't forget the US where it is a trashcan. Its still a thing you put rubbish in, you know rubbish what most Yanks talk.

re: Miskin.

That's a new one on me, I've never heard 'miskin' in the context of a rubbish bin.
Where did that derive?
Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and try to beat you with experience.
