Hi Gerald. Class 379 The Independently Powered Electric Multiple Unit ( IPEMU)

It is fitted with 6 battery rafts, and uses lithium iron magnesium phosphate battery technology. The IPEMU can hold a charge for 60 miles and requires 2 hours of charging for every hour running. The batteries charge from the overhead wires when the pantograph is raised and from regenerative braking.

Low level station was the terminus of the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway (known as the Old Worse and Worse).  It became part of the former Great Western Railway.

I believe it has been upgraded and is still in use. I don't believe I was ever there but I did pass through High Level a few times when journeying from Birmingham New Street to Stoke-on-Trent.
best wishes,  Alan
