"The Shake" was indeed opposite the  Lower Temple Street end of Burlington Passage of which this is a photo of.

Can anybody remember the pub that stood on the corner of I think Woodcock street  just down from the swimming baths
Thanks Dennis.

It was the Black Horse wasn't it? I only ever had one drink in there I wasn't keen on the pub. It's still open isn't it, I suppose its a student pub now.

Thanks Phil. I think that's it. I wouldn't have a clue if its still open haven't been near it for about 40 years but we did use it after swimming.

Hi Everybody does anybody remember old Tom from the Crown in station St. He always wore a trilby hat and a flower in his button hole, a raving lunatic but an entertainer. Approx 45 years ago.

Eeeh ! How busy you've all been since my last visit (aaages ago, I know - sorry :(  )
Still, I'm on a mission ! One of my Aunts - either Mary, married to John Taylor, or Flo (Florrie) married twice - first to Bill Tradewell and second to Bill Hunt , kept the Clock Inn in Bickenhill. Oh ! Don't know if it's any help at all, but both Aunts were formerly Massey.

Does this ring any bells to any of you - either the names of the Landlord/Lady or has the pub been mentioned in one of these hundred and thirty odd pages please ?

Thanks for your time and patience,
Joy

It was at the top of the Bull Ring on the left hand side going up the hill, gone before I was old enough to drink I think.
