One for all brummies' Can you name what I think is a pub on the right of the photo, where the 2 cars are parked outside. I believe its Edgbaston Street in town around the early 60s.


Was it a vision, or a waking dream?

You devil Townie , had it been on the other side of the street it would have had to be the Toreador , I don't know that one though alas

Yep scipio I know the one on the other side the Toreador been in there many times. I think I have walked past it when I was young but I'm only thinking.

Do you know who owned the A35 van with the Jaguar engine who used the Toreador in the mid 60's,  I often saw it parked out side but I rarely drank in there as Cutlers was only just up the road.

I don't Phil , I know the gaffer of The Toreador in the mid to late 60's was called Jack , he had a partner called Lil Winters she was well
endowed up top . Jack always wore a trilby in a certain way , he always looked like a bit of a gangster to me . I'm sure he had some
connections that way

Scipio sorry for taking so long. I am 99.9 % sure it was called The Wagon & Horses 14 Edgbaston Street closed 1944.

Townie, I've lightened your picture a little, i don't however know the pubs name, John.  Can't be the one that closed in 1944 it's got 1960's cars in your photo!!
