Three Wheel Basket Push Cart
« on: April 01, 2014, 11:12:51 PM »
Any body remember this type of hand cart, I remember them well round the Town when I was a kid and later, my father-in-law reckoned they where only ever a Birmingham item or mode of transport, I think most of you have seen then at some time in the past. Quite a lot of old photos with them appearing.

the only hand carts that I can remember was the ones used by the rag and bone man and all so the ones used by the market traders in the bull ring in the 50

The one like a horse cart my dad used one of those for his painting and decorating business.

There was also a flat one for moving furniture.

When I was a lad my Father owned a bakery in Derby and he used a basket carriage which I remember well.  I spent more time pushing it round Derby collecting goods for the shop than I did at school.  It was used for taking bread and cakes from the bakery to the shop and for collecting goods from the various wholesalers.  I hated the thing but it got me out of school which I hated more.
