Phil Thanks for your Info about the Bus Routes . Looking at the route I am sure this is somewhat later than I am talking about . The 29a route actually ran from the Baldwin right through town and on to Great Barr. The reason I am so certain we had friends in Great Barr and it was possible for us get there without having to change Buses.  Anyway with your agreement perhaps we could agree to put this to bed.

With regard to the 29 bus, it did terminate in Hillingford Avenue, off the B4154 Beacon Road, which is in B43 which is the Pheasey Estate, Gt Barr.  The Birmingham boundary is along the centre of the Queslett Rd at this point, so for the sake of about 300yds, both parties are correct (ish).  John.

Hi all,

I'm pretty sure that the 29 evolved into the 90/91 bus routes. that would've happened sometime in the early 70's.

The 107 has become the 907 that runs from Sutton Coldfield to Birmingham City centre

Roy according to the 1978 book the 52 was running from the City to Beeches Estate  and the 65 from Bull St to Short Heath,, the Formans Rd bus became the 36 from Sparkbrook to Stetchford.

The 61 went to the top of Trescott road Northfield.

In the late 50's I think it was the 18 went to the top of the Holloway.

There was also an 18a that went towards the Holloway but I'm not sure where it turned around
