Peg, where on this BF site should I ask members about The Monkey Run. My Mom used to tell us about getting dressed up and going out with the other teenage girls down to The Monkey Run. I presume it was to see what lads were about! Any thoughts?

Thought he only made cakes. His he teaching how to be a chef at that age ;D
If anybody asks, Ed, (particularly Mrs. M.) it wasn't me eating that cake, I'm on a diet ;) ;) ;)
Wot happened was, I was attacked by three 18 year old girls, two pinned me down whilst the third forced me to eat a Belgian Bun, that was some time ago, I'm still having nightmares. :-[

Hi Horton10 - First thing to do is to do a quick check to see if there is already a topic of that description in place, search in the top right hand corner of this screen, if you find nothing definitely start a new topic on The Lounge, on the Main Board, it's easy to do - it must be I've done it!
Peg
P.S. My mom spoke of the Monkey Run, it was indeed a case of the ladies getting all dressed up and going out to find that special friend, personally I think it's a bit rude to us blokes - Monkeys? (nor do I run much these day).
But listen no more on this thread, we'll be told off.

My CSE results were by and large disappointing but I did get a Grade 2 in Physics which was entirely unexpected, talking about science, did you hear about the meteorite that landed on a guy's driveway? Apparently oz for oz it's worth more than gold - the value of the lump of shiney black rock? £1.4m.
Apparently rocks like this can contain all the base elements that existed at the dawn of creation, helping us to understand the origins of the universe, including possibly amino acids, which are the essential building blocks of life itself.

Thanks for the information Peg monkey I was there from 59 to 63. I remember the headmaster Mr Walker his deputy Mrs Cadman. Mr Williams was my first teacher, Mr Watson I think taught possibly geography and sport. Mr Fleming was the woodwork teacher. Mr Jones art, Mr Hands Science. I remember going to Grove Lane swimming baths. My name was Tony Randall.
Hi Tony, I was at HLS 1960-65, so you were a year in front of me, all the teachers you mentioned I remember well. I'm surprised you didn't mention the delectable voluptuous Miss Chivvers - maybe she joined when I started?
Great the pic of the old  school gets so many hits.
