Delta metal old information
« on: March 30, 2015, 08:44:32 PM »
Any one would know or have some information on the old company Delta Metal circa 1970/1975
- when was it closed down
- Did the company have a private pension scheme
- If so , was the private pension pot managed by Delta Metal balance sheet or a separate management scheme ?
I worked for Delta Metal for nearly 15 years.
But recently it was brought to my attention that I may have a pension pot invested by the company which I'm not aware of !!
- I'm now well into my retirement age living in Ireland
Appreciate your valuable feed back

Paddy,I worked for a company in the Delta metal group between 1975-83.I only paid into the pension scheme for a couple of years as I was serving my apprenticeship there.
If I remember correctly the firms scheme was run by trustees for Delta. When I started a private pension a few years later, again, if I remember correctly, they transferred my Delta contributions into my private scheme.
I have tried to track down what happened to Delta metals and all I can find is a piece on Grace's guide which states that they shut down or sold off most of their manufacturing sites.
Hope this helps.

Paddy,You may find some information by putting in "Delta metal co uk pension trustees.
I'm sure that all employees were in the scheme, and i can only go by memory as I have nothing regarding paperwork.
The company I worked for had regular meetings regarding redundancies and I think a lot of the lads that took it were also allowed to cash in their pension contributions.
If you retired from your particular company,i would assume you have some money sitting in that fund.

Hi

Delta metal (or Delta Group) was taken over in 2010
by an American Co,  Valmont Industries.
There is a website Delta - Valmont, with info on pensions,
you may have already found this out.
