I had two good friends who were brought up in Summer Lane, both damn good chaps.

Phones cut out the high & low frequencies from your voice, which is why you sound different on the phone to the way you do in real life.    Different phones might retain different ranges of frequencies, so your friends and your daughter would both need to use the same phone to make a proper judgment of your accent.

I attended St chads school a couple of minutes away from summer lane and went to the settlement in the "lane" for school lunches and any spare money would be spent on stale cream cakes at the shop nearbye. What a life

Welcome to the forum, you could try Amazon, Ebay or Abebooks. The trouble is that when a book goes out of print people start asking silly money for them and you should expect to pay about £30-35 for a second hand copy as I don't think you will find a new one anywhere.
