I know I should have added a few details when I uploaded the pics, just didn't think about it. First of all I know it's not actually Birmingham but how many people out there went past it on the 147 to Redditch or Worcester? I was there from 1955 to 1959 and can remember stamping the petrol coupons during the Suez crisis. For awhile I thought that was where I was living due to the canal just up the road. In 1958 the sewers were renewed. Us kids loved playing in the trenches all along the road down Ash Lane. Seemed to be around October before bonfire night as I can remember getting in a big water tank and my brother throwing a banger in after me. We used to walk miles down the country lanes and along the canal. Just as dangerous then as now of course, just didn't realize it. From Cox St. West to Hopwood was like going to a different world.
Be happy, stay happy.

it would be about the tome of the suez when I use to travel with my mom and dad past there on our way to Weston I think, well before the motorways of course. nice photos, thanks.
