Tram tokens
« on: October 22, 2015, 11:06:27 AM »
Just noticed an old post re tram tokens. My dad worked for the Birmingham City Transport being a driver at Yardley Wood garage driving the 18A. Children of employees could take part in the Children's pantomime which was held each year at Perry Barr bus garage. I remember having to regularly travel from King's Heath to Wellhead Lane on a regular basis for rehearsals and for the actual performances around Christmas time. My sister and I with  our parents would catch the 42 tram from King's Heath to the Dale End area, walk to Martineau Street to catch the 33 bus to Perry Barr. We were issued with the plastic tokens of varying colours (Red for 1d I remember) I spent many happy hours travelling to Perry Barr and performing. Does anyone else remember these shows?
