countrylad. I've had 4 narrow boats over the years. My boats were moored at Alvecote Marina, Tamworth.
townie, was there a narrow boat builder at or near the Marina? The reason I ask is that I have a cousin who lives in Tamworth and until his retirement a few yeas ago, he worked for a boat builder in that area, he is a great carpenter and fitted out the boats.

I came across this great aerial photo the other day.  There was no photo credit given, so I don't know to what collection it belongs.  The only information was Broad Street 1970's -



Looks like Alpha Tower in the bottom left is still under construction, and the REP looks complete, so must be at around 1972 (unless the REP just looks complete but is still being fitted out & is a way off opening).  I can remember there being a viewing place in Bingley Hall where you could see the Rep being built.
