St Thomas' church, Bath Row
« on: December 30, 2015, 12:56:00 PM »
Hope you all have your thinking caps on today! Trying to find out what happened to the incumbents of the graves at St Thomas' after the bombing during WW2. A lady on a social network site remarked that she was at school opposite the church in the 1950s when the graves were excavated and reinterred elsewhere. I realise it would be a mass grave but would like to pay my respects to my ancestors. Can anyone help?

Phil

Hi Empty

Nice to hear from you, as far as I am aware all the burials and headstones were transferred from St Thomas's when the site was laid out as a garden of rest in 1953 I believe and they were moved to Warstone Lane Cemetery. I'm sure you will be able to get some further information from this source.
