deakins road hay mills

Would anyone know when the terrace houses in deakins rd hay mills were built

Guessing Col - those nearest the Cov Road early 1900s, further on 1930s. I'm sure the more knowledgeable Brummies on here will know better.

iv just had a look at deakins  road and I found a date plate on a house wall but can not make the date out but I think its 1890s not sure

Looking at the OS maps those dated in 1893 show no housing at all, those dated in 1905 show housing at the Coventry Road end and on those roads that run between Coventry Road and Deakins Road. The thing is the maps could be a year or two earlier than the published dates.

Like Roy I had a peek at Google maps and I found this dated nameplate on Gladys Villas 1908 opposite the bottom of Gladys Road next door to where Elt Brothers Depot used to be in the 70's.

Given that the municipal type houses at the Holder Road end were most likely built on the 40's or 50's I would say the rest were built between 1900 and 1910.
