If the houses had to go then at least we have trees and green space in their place.

There are a lot of green spaces around Balsall Heath now, but the houses were replaced by little boxes that all look the same, and they will become the slums of the future.

The River Cole at Foremans Road Sparkhill when it was just a ford, and again with the bridge that replaced it.

Do I remember a ford down Buckland Ends Lane, where it met the river Cole?

We are now standing on New Street at the junction of Stephenson Place looking up Corporation Street. The first image of New Street must have been taken prior to 1878 before Corporation Street was cut trough. Then the next image is from the early 1900's, and then one from the 1950's and the final one is what it looks like today.
