Hi Phil,   When did the Crystal Palace disappear ?  it was obviously before my time (I'm 61) as we,  my wife and family were regular visitors to the park,- and can't recall it,

                             Regards,      Tony.

Hi Tony,

Suttons Crystal Palace was built in the 1870's and used for entertainment & sport. The official date given for it's demolition is 1962, so you would have only been 6 or 7 then. Mind you I don't think there was much left to demolish by 1962.

Out of Banners Gate and uphill along the Chester Road we come to the junction of Kings Rd & Jockey Rd with the Beggars Bush public house.

Hi Phil,   Thank-You,   No wonder I couldn't remember it,  as you pointed out I was only a nipper then,  shame as I think it would of been well worth a look,

    Thanks again,      Tony.

making our way up Chester Road we come to the junction of Boldmere Road and looking back the way we have come we see the Baptist Church on our right. If we then turn back around we can see Chester Road railway station bridge in the distance.

Hi Phil,    These shots just get better and better but of course you're right on the edge of "my manor"  so obviously I'm really enjoying them,    just one more thing, where was the actual location of the Crystal Palace as its really got me thinking?

        Thanks Phil,  Regards,      Tony.
