Now before we turn left into Holliday Street we see The Glassmakers Arms on our right.

Phil when I was a nipper I used to fetch the woman over the road from me two pints of mild from here starting on Friday night till Sunday night . Jack the gaffer was a decent bloke, while I waited for the bottle to be  filled he'd already give me a bar of chocolate(a whirligig I think ) I remember doing this for some and releasing the top on the way home just to sample the contents , then the Government introduced a law(drat) whereby the licensee had to put a label over the stopper . Which put a stop to me testing the taste
as to whether or not it was safe.
