Mostly, yes.  There are certain times where it is restricted for classes, but there are several public sessions for most of the activities.

I'm not sure how many of them you can just turn up for & pay as you go though, mostly you need to have a monthly pass.  The prices don't seem too dear to me.  Tthe swimming isn't that much dearer than a monthly pass for Northfield & there are better facilities & it's open for longer.

1971 was the last time I swam at Northfield baths, my brother in law challenged me to a race for a tenner. I beat him by about a quarter of a length of the pool.

It didn't matter, he had half of it back in beer in the Bell afterwards.

The photo was taken in roughly 1914, and if you mean the commercial premises on the right then it was Mitchells Paper Mill and the building wasn't demolished until the 1970's I don't know if it was still a paper mill then, but I could find out if you wanted to know. The houses next door to the mill were demolished in the 1930's and replaced with maisonettes.
