Great photographs. In the sepia one, notice the tram lines. Hagley road was a tram route at one time, and I believe for a very short time a "first class " tram was tried out.
Ironically, they are now digging up the road under Five Ways island to put the tram lines back in.....

I read somewhere that the residents of Hagley Road did prevent the trams from running along there for a long time but eventually they had to put up with it, and I think the number 34 ran as far as Bearwood.

I had to remove the Deritend High Street image because of complications but here it is again with a slight alteration.

Deritend High Street during the years 1875 to 2019 from Alcester Street to Chapel House Street

A couple images showing that things rarely change in the suburbs, both these images are from the Marston Green area. The first one is Bickenhill Road near lyndon Croft, the second is Elmdon Lane near Land Lane. Not many changes except for the trees getting bigger.

The fringes around the airport development which will therefore be as traffic-quiet these days as they were pre-War.

Digging up at Five Ways! (6 ways, actually, as Calthorpe Road was a late development.) The ghosts of all the old masters and pupils of KEGSFW will be stirring on full-moon nights!!
