Thanks Phil - you even have pics of the circus and car park. I never heard that corner so called by anyone even in my young days. Great info, thank you.

In Nechells now at the top of Bloomsbury Street at High Park, better known to locals as The Green in 1925 and then again some 94 years later.

Phil Do you know the name of the pub in the top photo?
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?

We are now in Tyseley at the junction of Blythswood Road and Wharf Lane, at least it was known as Wharf Lane back in 1913 when the original photo was taken its now called Wharfdale Road. On the right you can see a sweet shop that I knew and used as Dirty Dicks cafe in the 70's.

Great pic Phil. Tyseley looks very suburban then. Not much greenery around there now.

On the Warwick Road on the edge of Acocks Green, The Britannia where me and my mate would pop i n for a quick drink before making our way to the Grange club in the late 60's but we didn't think much of the new replacement in the 70's so we gave it a miss, so did a lot of other punters as well because its a car sales  now.

Just a little further up the Warwick Road nearly opposite Stockfield road was Harry Harris's smithy and shop I think this remained there until the late 40's at least.

I don't think I have done anything in the Great Barr area yet, So these two images are either side of the island on Gorse Farm Road Eastwood Road and Langford Avenue, both the original images date from the early 1940's.

I notice the trolley bus wires are in evidence in the pic (apropos of just a comment). Not that that helps with the name of the pub. I wonder if it was a name related to the gas works?
