The poor old Coach and Horses (not that I was ever in it). Has it taken on another use? I see there were plans to turn it into a sort of legal drugs café.

Judith,

Don't get me going on that subject, it's sore point I still want to know why its not an English Market and is a Romanian one masquerading as a German Market.

I echo your thoughts Phil , I went once in the heyday never again each stall is a repetition of the last one , they all sell the same stuff
If voting made any difference , they wouldn't let us do it.

Then why not have an English market? Also.
I know people who go each year, and they say how much they enjoy it.
It may not be a patch on the Christmas Markets in Germany, but, hey, let`s enjoy what there is.

Desecration. Bradford Street and its pubs ought to be left alone now. But I suspect it won't be.

I saw 'Rock around the Clock' there in 1955. Because of Teddy Boy riots in London, the Castle Cinema was the only one locally that would show it so all the Teds in the area came. The police stood at the back and immediately ejected a couple that started dancing in the aisle. At that moment, someone let a banger off and there was uproar. No further trouble but the atmosphere was electric - magic!

On another occasion, I was caught letting my mate in through the back door.
Let's make the best out of a bad situation.
