I also wondered about Brighton Rd. It's nowhere near Brighton and doesn't lead you there.
At least Stratford Rd.took you to Stratford.(On Avon)

Colourful TB suits were all the rage.

My mate had a bright yellow TB suit and wore Blue 'Brothel Creepers' with it.
Cool or what? :-)

I love the suits and creepers look  :)  I have several pairs of creepers myself in fact.

I suppose mainly seeing black & white photos of the era I wasn't so aware of all the really bright colours in the suits.

You've still got Creepers? Wow! My mind boggles trying to think where you might wear them today?

Me too but bald 'Senior Citizens' (Me) wouldn't look quite right in them these days methinks.  ::)

When you think just after WW11 the only people/children that wore boots where the daily mail boots. But now everyone wears them and with the platform soles some do look like creepers.

I have several pairs, different colours & different platform heights.  I often wear them to work as they are really comfy.   None of them are vintage though.

Luminous socks were in at the time, lime green, orange, etc were a fad for a while.

I'm wearing creepers today!  No luminous socks though, although the ones I am wearing are grey with coloured dinosaurs on  ;D
