Bread Street
« on: April 22, 2017, 08:57:56 PM »
I think this may be one for my map finding buddy Mike or Phil. I have came across a Bread Street but it doesn't say where it was. I  know it was in Birmingham but that's it. Ive tried looking on the forum but it looks like its never been brought up, I may be wrong. Thank You.
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?

Bread Street ran from Newhall Street to Livery Street but the name was changed at the turn of the 20th century. The Red Lion Hotel stood at the corner of Church Street & Bread Street but was later replaced by a newer larger version and this itself was later renamed The Old Royal when the original on Temple Row was demolished to make way for the new Rackhams store in the 60's.

added later

I forgot to say Bread Street changed to Cornwall Street.
Phil died in 2020. RIP.
