Gooch Street
« on: May 28, 2017, 02:35:37 PM »

Hi all - I'm new to this so would be grateful for your patience.
My parents and aunt either owned or ran shops in Gooch Street from around 1949 - 1958.
One shop was a ladies dress shop possibly no. 313 called 'Clarice', there was a newsagent and maybe a book shop.
They were Clarice Thomas (previously Ford), Dorothy Cook (previously Ford) and James Cook.
I believe all these shops were on the opposite side of the road to where Woolworths was but I can't find any pictures anywhere of the side of the road where the shops were.  Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions..

Many Thanks
Dorothy

Thanks very much for that - I had seen that picture before but thought it was the wrong side of the road.
Now I've looked again and with your helpful arrow - it makes sense.

Thanks again
Dorothy
