HELP! My near-side front tyre is wearing unevenly across the face, low tread on the outer edge still good depth on the inner - it's only done about 14000 miles, it looks like the tracking is out, in days gone by you could take the tyre off the rim and re-fit outter edge on the inside to even out wear, can this still be done? I know you can't with an asymetric tread.
I'm brassed-off from Hockley at the moment 'cos it looks like I'm gonna have to fork out for a tyre prematurely. >:(

Ready for a pub quiz style question? What did the RS stand for on sporty Ford Escorts and Sierras? :-\

Do you kow how you are supposed to progress from young and foolish to grown-up and sensible? Well in the late 90s I briefly went the other way, I took my Sierra in for an MOT and for sale on the garage forecourt was an eye-catching black XR3i (a real babe magnet, but such things were no longer of interest then, I was married :-\ ), I paid a deposit but I almost changed my mind when I got the insurance quotes......... :-[

P.S. I still think the car looks great, what do you think, girls?

I see you never quite made the leap to a Sierra Cosworth, loved to have seen the quote for that.Have had quite a few Fords over the years, still have an Escort Si parked up.
My answer to the RS question is RUST as STANDARD.

I've been there, Dave, my new MkII Escort doors started to rot at the bottom when barely out of warranty  -  5yr anti-perforation warranty came later - but that only kicked in if the panel actually rotted through. :-[

When studying at The Birmingham Business School (UCE) for an NVQ4 I was seconded to Reliant, Tamworth to fill a gap in procurement expertise, the firm went broke for the last time shortly after I arrived there (not my fault!), I stayed on for a short time to help wind the company up, one Friday afternoon travelling home.......... :-[
My beloved car was subseqently written-off. :-[
