Over sixty years ago I recall wooden Corona crates, complete with bottles of the fizzy drink, being delivered to a friends home in Hall Green. They did not call where I lived. I think there were six bottles, or maybe four, to a crate - well, it is a long time ago.
One unusual thing I remember about Corona crates, rather than the bottles that went into them, was that a model shop in Torquay, Devon had a large counter which was built on top of a stack of these crates. Again it was in the early 1960's that I visited this shop (I believe he moved out into a retail park in the 1980's) so cannot say for sure how many crates were there, suffice to say there must have been at least fifty. One wonders how he came across them and would Corona have been happy for him to keep them if they had known. There was no attempt at concealment.
