Continuing on along Gerrard Street we come to Alma Street, with the local corner shop, passing the junction we are on Whitehead Street and at the end of that we come to Aston High Street.

Although the web site says High Street, Aston I am sure this was the accident at the junction of Alma Street and Whitehead Street in 1963.

Thank you Lyn for the advice, I have corrected my post.  Alma roads, streets etc. seem to be everywhere.  I have a friend who lives in an Alma Road, maybe that's why I wrote road.
The Alma context usually has a connection with the Battle of Alma - which I see was 10th. September, 1854 and was the first major battle of the Crimean War,

yes alan i believe you are correct about the name alma having connection with the battle..think there are a few streets in the aston area named after battles..must try and find out which ones..

Inkerman Street Aston would be one., like Alma Crescent & Inkermam St in Duddeston.

Now after crossing Aston High Street we make our way down Park Lane passing on our right E Russells print works and then the Shareholders Arms at the junction of Potters Lane.

On our journey down Park Lane we now pass Lloyds Garage just after Barton street and then further along the Royal Oak puvlic gouse on the cormer of Claredon Street.
