nice car bit light on the back end it liked over take the front in the wet
now this was one of the first go faster cars and you could do all kinds of modifications to it it just stuck to the road
I had a couple of Triumph Spitfires, and Mk3 and a Mk4. I bought the Mk3 in the summer of 76. Cost £100 with a hard top. same colour as the one in the picture. I bought it off a bloke near Colebrook Road. I can just see him now, 70's curly perm, open neck shirt and a big gold Belcher chain around his neck, stinking of Brute aftershave. Had great fun in this car. I left the hard top off all that summer (it had no canvas roof with the car). I had to climb in and out of it, as the doors had dropped so much, if you opened than, you couldn't close them. Happy days
One of my friends had a Spitfire more or less straight from school. He had a real job getting insurance for it at that age!
