Ford Consul Classic. 1961-63

Ford Classic four door registered May 1962 1498 cc.JPG

Early versions had the 1340cc engine and later models had the 1500cc engine.
Customers had the choice of column or floor change.

The bottom half of the car was a scaled down version of the US Ford Galaxie with a Lincoln Continental roofline.

And the Coupe version: Ford Consul Capri.

In February 1963 a GT version was announced. The new GT engine, developed by Cosworth, featured a raised compression ratio to 9:1, a modified head with larger exhaust valves, an aluminium inlet manifold, a four branch exhaust manifold and, most noticeably, a twin-choke Weber carburettor – this being the first use of this make on a British production car.
Patriot, was this also known as the Anglia Classic? Or was that a different model?

As far as I know there never was an Anglia 'Classic'.
The word Classic was used to describe the Consul Classic.

I've just read this thread from the start, how could I have missed what is perhaps the British People's Car?

It started life looking like this;
Morris Minor MM (low-lights) 1950 moving.JPG

Morris Minor MM Saloon
and finished like this:

1969 MORRIS Minor 1000, Stunning car all round. Looks and drives A1 (Maroon B)

Morris Minor 1000

I sold mine to buy an Anglia 105E and regretted it ever since.

I don't think a car would be called ISIS nowadays.   :-[

Patriot, it must be the series one that had the headlights lower in the grill as the mm did.

I don't think any other Morris model had headlamps mounted low down like the MM series Minor.

Riley RME

1953 Riley RME RF.jpg

1952-55
1.5L 4 cyl. engine.

The Riley RMB (same body shape) 1946-52 used the 2.5L 4 cyl.engine.

They were marketed as 'Executive' cars.
