Mechanical clock in Bullring.
« on: November 10, 2017, 02:08:48 PM »
Does anyone have any info or pics of the mechanical clock that used to be in the old Bullring market hall?

Does anyone know of a reproduction one in the new indoor market?

Sorry I can't help you with any information on a repro in the indoor market, I have never been in there.

Phil...

Thanks for the info, I will have to look in the indoor market next time I am in Brum, the clock in the pic looks great. Hope they have replicated it.

What indoor market are you going to Malc?

Malc

I remember some years back a project was started to build a replacement clock with an appeal to collect £75,000 for a replacement clock for the one that was lost during the WWII bombing. I can't remember now, but I think I made a donation at the time, but it was quite a few years back. I wonder if this one you have heard about is the replacement. The idea was to have a replacement built and place it in the indoor market of that time, but that building has gone now. So ideally the best choice would be the new market.
