I wouldn't want to be in the first ambulance on scene at that one.

Was this a case of Drink drive or boy racing at 01.10?
Was it a vision, or a waking dream?

The accident was in the national news. To me it looks like someone came on the wrong side of the road to do that sort of damage.

A bit of both Townie I bet , after all it is a bit of history round there where they used to do the Birmingham Prix

I can't remember the Birmingham Prix using the underpass part of the Middleway,  but from the photos I have seen of this incident I would say speed was involved in some way or other as it's hard to imagine how so much carnage could be caused at the speed limit of 40 mph unless it was a head on collision.

Phil I didn't mean the underpass specifically , just around that area . Yes head on, or out of ones head on something I wouldn't mind betting

just read that the taxi driver had phoned his wife to say he was on his last fare and would be home soon...taking all info we have so far i think that speed must be the cause....all very sad

From what I have now been told some where not wearing seat belts and they were all heading in the same direction. Can anyone add anything to that.
