Fatal Accident In Birmingham

6 People were killed last night in in Traffic accident near Bristol Road/Belgrave Middleway. Victims included a Black Cab Driver and one of his passengers The other vehicle involved was carrying  4 men 3 of which died at the scene. Three other vehicles were involved which was described by the Police as 'Horrific' 40 Firefighters also attended the scene

The accident was in the national news. To me it looks like someone came on the wrong side of the road to do that sort of damage.

I can't remember the Birmingham Prix using the underpass part of the Middleway,  but from the photos I have seen of this incident I would say speed was involved in some way or other as it's hard to imagine how so much carnage could be caused at the speed limit of 40 mph unless it was a head on collision.

Phil I didn't mean the underpass specifically , just around that area . Yes head on, or out of ones head on something I wouldn't mind betting

just read that the taxi driver had phoned his wife to say he was on his last fare and would be home soon...taking all info we have so far i think that speed must be the cause....all very sad

From what I have now been told some where not wearing seat belts and they were all heading in the same direction. Can anyone add anything to that.

Can't see they were all going in the same direction by the state of the cars after the crash,looks like a crossover to me
