After Tyburn Road we continue on down Bromford Lane passing a seemingly out of place line of dwellings down to the Wheelwright Road junction and just past there we can see the Stewart & Lloyds factory.

Looking back up Bromford Lane from roughly outside the BRS depot.

Never went and was not allowed by my parents to go, but remember there used to be a Disco at the BRS In the late 60īs early 70īs

I think photo 34 may be wrongly captioned. The Bromford lane junction is Drews Lane and the petrol station was previously called "Ideal Service Station" when it sold Cleveland fuels, John.

Studying the photo I think you are right, the trouble being I remember the junction of Drews Lane being more like this photo with Rawlings Brothers transport yard being behind the cafe. I didn't get down that way much after the 70's.


The trouble with photos collected off the internet you can never be sure that they are of the location they claim to be, Though as it doesn't make any difference to the route so no harm done.

We have now reached the Fox & Goose public house and are crossing the junction of Washwood Heath Road, Coleshill Road into Stechord Lane.

One the one side of Stechford Lane was Dawsons Newsagents and on the other the Beaufort Cinema.
