The Hall was re-built in 1869-70 paid for by Zaccheus WalkerIII, but when his health started to fail in 1880 his son Zaccheus Walker IV took over the running of the estate. He was a draughtsman and engineer by trade and a Lt Col in Volunteer Reserve. He died in 1930 and by 1937 the hall had fallen into disrepair and was sold to the Council.
