Because I had friend that lived around that area. The Billesley was our meeting place for a drink before going out anywhere.

Coastal,
The years I stayed there would have been 1960 onwards.

A couple more views of Colbath Road before we reach the Brook Lane junction.

Now at the end of Coldbath Road, if we look to the left we are looking down Brook Lane ans to the right we see the Billesley Hotel.

Turning right past the Billesley Hotel we travel along Brook Lane onto Addison Road, passing Portman Road, Goldsmith Road and an old garage that is still there around today minus the pumps. Then its a right turn onto the High Street Kings Heath.

We head up Kings Heath High Street to Vicarage Road where we look back the way we have just come.

We now make a left turn at Vicarage Road and All Saints Church and on reaching Abbots Road we turn to look back.

Wow ! The Kings Heath pics really take me back, particularly the 1950s one, that kid in the left half looks like he's wearing Wheelers Lane school uniform. And I'd completely forgotten those subterranean toilets.
