I was born at a maternity hospital in Lordswood Road (or so I was told because I don't remember it)  ;D

Coastal & Snooks,

Because both places you mention are on the number 11 route and are (or were I should say) viewable from the bus I am happy to include an image of both here. The Maternity Hospital (Lordswood House) was previously used as a hospital for wounded soldiers and was demolished to make way for the new medical centre that now stand on the site. I'm assuming these shops stood at the corner of Lordswood Road and Lonsdale Road Snooks so if I'm wrong please tell me.

The Maternity Home had long gone by the time I moved to Lonsdale Road  ... Apparently, after I googled it - it closed its doors in 1968. I don't remember it all. And I was born there like Coastal....I must have passed it going to school but again I don't remember it! I do remember The Old House at Home pub... what happened to that? They used to do good food there. I remember its ivy covered walls!

We are now on Harborne Park Road very soon nearly at the High Street junction and the Kings Arms.

Phil pic 136 , very poignant for me that road , I forged a friendship with a fellow at secondary school . I used to look on him as a brother
he lived at number 48 . Takes me back to the 60's , him and me outside of his house taking pictures of each other posing. After we went our separate ways after school , he left for Australia , still there I think . Good old days them Phil
If voting made any difference , they wouldn't let us do it.

Please if we can keep the topic pertinent to the number 11 bus route and not buses in general I would be grateful.

We are now passing Elmtree Road, and a little further on at the junction of Gillhurst Road we see The Old House at Home pub before continuing along Lordswood Road toward Bearwood.

Elmtree road had the school for the blind if my memory serves me correctly. What do they call The Old House at Home, now? Has it changed?

Pretty sure it is still The Old House at Home. Few years since I went there it was a Carvey then and I believe that it still is. To be honest be it a few years ago it wasn't very good but it could well have changed as I say it is some years since I went there.

An image off the current Google Earth map, showing the Old House at Home recently.
