Church Clipping
« on: April 27, 2008, 11:29:01 PM »
Hi there,

I am researching the Customs and Traditions of the British Isles and am trying to see if any Church Clipping" ceremonies still exist in Birmingham. An old book "The Everyday Book" by Hone talked of several being seen in Birmingham and there are certainly other examples still seen around the UK.

Does anybody know of an example?
Could you let me know the location and contact details for the organisers?

Many thanks

Phil

Hi tradbrit

Hello and welcome, I certainly have never seen or heard of this practice taking place in Birmingham.  In fact I would think you would a difficult job of finding a church with a big enough congregation to link hands and encircle the church.

But I wish you the best of luck in your endeavour.

Phil
