Ive found an example on face book its identical to the medal. Also there is a photo of Cenral Grammar from where it  started life in Sulfolk street. The same building was also called Sufolk street County Council secondry School, S C S perhaps

Rob that's great. I've scoured the internet, gone on to other forums and still can't get an image of the badge. :-[

What provenance did this chap on Facebook have to bring him to this conclusion as I cant seem to find how the letters CSS would fit with the Birmingham Municipal Technical School, as it used to be called or as it was later called Birmingham Central Technical College.

Rob

It was built  and opened in 1895 as Birmingham Municipal Technical School and remained as such until 1927 when it was renamed Birmingham Central Technical College. Though as it was classed as a Commercial School Perhaps it was CSS and it stood for Commercial Schools Sports.

According to the national archives, ref ED35/2576 The School formaly Known as Birmingham Municipal Technical Day School was called Sulfok Street Council secondary School.from 1902 untill 1919.

On the Aston Univercity website (The early years) It says The Birmingham Municipal Technical School only taught as an evening School as day release courses where not available untill 1919. in the day time it was used as a boys Shcool,There is a photo of the School, wich is the same photo as the one on Birmingham central Grammar Schools face book page.

Well. I think you have solved the mystery Rob, thank you. I'm still waiting to hear back from Frattorinis who may or may not be able to corroborate this. O0
