Hertford Street Balsall Heath.

Mrsperfect,

You can reminisce about your early childhood in Balsall Heath, I'll just add that no I never had occasion to enter 43 Hereford Street. It's also worth mentioning like a lot of Balsall Heath it has changed drastically over the last 40 years or so. There are none of the original houses left in Hertford Street and they have even converted the Crown to housing which I think that there is a great possibility it's what it was originally when first built.
Phil died in 2020. RIP.

Thanks Phil......

I remember a girl called Lila who I was friends with. I think she was one house up from us. We got on great until her father decided to butcher one of their chickens in the back garden. It was running around with it's head off and put me right off going over there again. You mentioned going to Clifton Road school, (on the other post) well I went there once as a bridesmaid, (very young) for the wedding reception. I enjoyed every minute of it. I thought I looked like a princess and we had a lovely meal![/size]
