birmingham trams of yesterday

today I seen an old school friend and we got chatting about when we was kids he come from angalina street


now the question is how many different types of tram  run in Birmingham from 1920 till 1953  and what was the longest rout I said the tram to rubey   if  you  have old photos of trams in brum going back to the 1920s or if you know the  different makes of trams post it hear

I know nothing about trams, other than I can remember riding on them here in Birmingham and in Dundee in Scotland when I was child I did the trip to the Lickey Hills many times as a child I think if I remember correctly the fare at the time was 4d from Pebble Mill to the Terminus at Rednal.


The photo I have attached is supposedly the first stream tram in Birmingham and was taken in 1882. As it's marked Aston it might even have been a forerunner of your photo which looks to be near Salford Bridge at the northern end of Aston.
