The Railway Tavern, 132-134 Kyrwicks Lane?

Hello - I am trying to find out more about this pub - apparently it was run by Percy Barton, a former England football team player. any information would be of great interest to me as I am a distant relative trying to find out more about him.Thank you Anita

Welcome to you, I can't tell you much about the Railway in Kyrwicks Lane other than I used it occasionally along with the other three pubs in that road. Sorry I don't remember the names of any of the gaffers during the times that I used it although you don't say what years you are interested in. I can tell you that in the 70's that it was used by mainly an Irish crowd and it closed about 1973 and if I remember correctly it was a Davenports House.
