The house called Grindstones is located near to the junction of Westfield and Augustus Road, so that sounds about right for the location of Grindstone/Grindleston Road. Pity they changed the name of the road.
I wonder if Moss House Lane, located near to Hill Farm was part of what is now Richmond Hill Road. There must have been a Moss House in that area.
Thank you Mike for the very interesting newspaper articles. Samuel Harrison had a daughter called Eliza. I would imagine that it was Eliza who took the bundle of clothes to the hospital, not long after her Mother died. I hope the poor old horse went to a good home.
Really looking forward to visiting Birmingham-already planning my itinerary-Birmingham Museum; Back to back museum; canals; evening meal at the Balti Triangle and of course Edgbaston......there's only so much you can cram into 2 days.
