Any further information available, such as year, was this a fatal accident?

Thanks for replying Phil, the only info I have is that my mother witnessed a boat sinking many years ago but I was just going on a hunch, I'm sure Witton Lakes was mentioned but that's all I have to go on. Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree!

I'm afraid Witton Lakes is on my list of seldom visited places, but I'm sure there have been many boats that have sunk there over the years. I'm pretty sure that you will need more information to get to the bottom of the sinking you are seeking.

Phil suggested a date might be helpful.
So I went to the trouble of doing a bit of research.
I thought this might help and point, maybe, towards the event in question.

Ah, thanks Mike, must admit I'm flailing about in the dark.It was just something my mother had told me about years ago, she saw a boat capsize and people had drowned ,pity I never asked about it. It was a vague idea that Witton Lakes could be the area, I suppose I'll never know now.
