As an infant I was always delighted with the gifts I received at Christmas from my mom and dad,
with one exception.I suppose I must have been about 5 when me and my mum made a trip to Lewis's Toy Dept a few months before Christmas, during the visit I spotted exactly what I wanted for Christmas and I thought I'd specified it precisely: it was a tin plate ambulance about 12ins long with an orange flashing light on the roof and, most important of all, a rear opening door for the casualty, imagine my disappointment when Christmas morning I eagerly opened my presents only to find I didn't get an ambulance, it was a tin plate police car - ok it had a red flashing light and a siren
but it wasn't an ambulance.Ah Well! That's life! You ask for an ambulance and you get a police car. Peg.
