Had our work's Christmas do last Friday (13th)!

I used to love the lunch time Christmas dos at the Grand Hotel.  The food was always fabulous & there was a great atmosphere.  The company I worked for would let us have an extra long lunch break & we'd get back to work around 3 slightly tipsy  :)
Fantastic establishment, is it still there?
Peg.

It is still there, but was empty for a long, long time.  It has recently been refurbished and I understand it is due to open again next year.

When I said British Market I didn't mean the normal weekly street market type, I was thinking more about Christmas gifts, along with arts & crafts and specialist food stalls, (I don't know what they sell at the German market because I've never been) but I'm sure there are the right type of UK sellers out there.

There is used to be a craft market associated with the German market in Birmingham, which was UK crafts & gifts along with produce such as chutneys & cheeses.  It was always the bit that stretched onto Centenary Square so really handy for me at work.  They haven't had it since they started the remodelling of Centenary Square.  Centenary Square is finished now & although the big wheel, Ice Rink, Ice Bar & another ride are there, there are no market stalls at all - not even food outlets (even though there is space for some round the Hall of Memory/Baskerville House part.  Shame really.

Hello Fred
Not so many in the Farmers Market today. Thought it strange, would have thought it would have been busy today.
Might it be to do with the new rules about EU symbols.
Our MP will take this up with Boris. Had a good chat yesterday.
Still waiting to hear if I have got Cancer.
Best wishes...Gerald.
