Hi ,
Would any one be able to help me , im helping my cousin with his birth certificate , on it , it states that he was born at 77 Dudley Road , looking at the map , number 77 was situated away from the hospital and is shown as a nurses home , he was born January 1945 ,his mother was a single parent .i am trying to find out just what was number 77 , an annex of the hospital ? , a birthing home for single mothers ? , we just dont know , can anyone help please .

Found this too
The postcode for 77 Dudley Road is the same as that for the current City Hospital. The National Archives show that postcode as also having belonged to the Workhouse Infirmary (until 1920) and the Hospital from 1920-1948. You can find the information here  national archives .gov .uk /hospital records
