Birmingham Folk Groups
« on: June 11, 2008, 02:00:23 PM »
There are some great folk musicians in the Birmingham area. I was interested to learn that The Harvesters were first formed over forty years ago and took the name for their group from their local pub in Solihull. Since they formed they have been a trio, a foursome and even a six-piece group. I've been listening to their music on their MySpace page and as they say in their write up about the group "Sue’s clear and distinctive voice soars out over Ian’s expert accompaniment and their vocal harmonies are enough to set the hairs on the back of your neck standing up" If you'd like to attend one of their gigs they're playing at the Alcester Folk Festival on 21st June at 12:00. www.myspace.com/harvestersmusic
