149 Hurst Street
« on: January 31, 2021, 03:36:14 AM »
Hello
I'm new to this forum so hi.
I am  researching my son's paternal side and have come across a Thomas Henry Stevenson who was born in November 1900 at 149 Hurst Street Birmingham. Can anyone tell me if this is still standing and/or if there are any photos of the place circulating? A search online led me to the National Trust places in Hurst Street. If number 149 is not still there, does anyone know if the house would have been like these?
Thanks so much

hi and welcome  to the forum now if 149   was on hurst street there is more than a fair chance  it would have a been little bit different to  the houses behind it    now the houses behind would have had the address   some thing like  no 10 back of 149  number 10 would have been in a court yard  behind 149  but the houses would have been much the same

i lived in a two up two down back to  back houses in birmingham in the late 1949  to about the mid 1950s that was much the same

No 149 was demolished by 1950. Here is a map  c1889 showing 149 in red. It looks similar to one of the outside houses  of theNational Trust court
